Welcome

The East End Coordination Group is a volunteer committee with a coordinator funded by the Adelaide City Council. The group has, as its main focus, the continued improvement of the East End of the City of Adelaide. This improvement involves both structure and function. With the right structure, incumbent upon appropriate urban planning, function will improve.

The structure of the East End involves the physical look of our area, paving, roadways, buildings, greening and the maintenance of a safe flow of traffic be it motorised or pedestrian.

The function of the East End relates to the day-to-day activities which impact on traders and residents. The Precinct Licensing Statement for the East End is our guide for living and working in the area.

Our group therefore coordinates between residents, traders and the City Council to achieve the best living and working conditions possible for those who have chosen to come to the East End. We aim to improve living conditions by continued greening of the East End, by our contribution to the varying committees addressing any problems which arise. We aim to improve working conditions by liaising between council and traders on issues which may be detrimental to the East End.

We wish to maintain the East End as the prime area of the city. Sponsoring functions and contributing however possible, encouraging other groups to use the East End and encouraging members to become involved are all part of our role.

To achieve a vibrant, exciting, safe and productive East End that traders wish to join, that residents want to live in and that visitors want to revisit is our ultimate aim.
